Summary
In Chapter 14, several organizations form to advocate for Mo, but Mo does not become involved with them, as he still does not want to become part of the larger political dynamics. He simply wishes to construct his design for the memorial. Meanwhile, Alyssa has been working as a columnist for the New York Post. Her columns are generally anti-Muslim, but they soon fail to attract much attention. She realizes that if she wants to maintain her professional success, she must continue to investigate and report on the Mohammad Khan controversy. Alyssa learns about Mo’s past trip to Afghanistan on a business trip for the architecture firm that employs him. Alyssa then meets with Claire. Claire says little to Alyssa.
