Summary

Elena avoids Antonio; school increases in difficulty. One day she sees Nino in the hall with Professor Galiani, the woman who identified Elena's talent in the first novel. Elena feels intimidated by them both. The next day he approaches her with an article and asks if she'll read it. She's very excited that he asks for her help. When she sees him again, he doesn't listen to her opinion; he is already upset that the professor has dismissed it. Nino thanks her and kisses her on the cheek. As she stews in excitement about this, she sees him walk around the corner and meet up with a classy and beautiful girl a bit younger than herself. He embraces and kisses her. As Elena turns away in despair she sees that Antonio is there, waiting on her.
