Summary
In Chapter 5, after debating how to register Poonachi, the couple decides that they will wait for their other mother goat to have babies, and then register Poonachi with that litter. Eventually that mother gives birth to two kids. Three days later, the woman gathers the mother, two kids, and Poonachi and prepares to go to the local office. The old man refuses to come with her. In the long line, the old woman listens and many around her argue about where the lines are meant by the government to train people to be obedient, or if they are meant to punish the poor.
In Chapter 6, an old man in the line faints. Fights also break about between sheep owners and goat owners, as sheep only have one kid at a time, and take less time to register. When the old woman gets to...
