Hoa aka Houwha

Hoa is the narrator and one of the main characters who undergoes mental, emotional, and physical transformations.

At the earliest stage of his life, Hoa believes that his name was Houwha. He has lived so long — nearly forty-thousand years — that he does not really remember what he was called. He was created as a tuner for the Plutonic Engine. The people of Syl Anagist believed they could use this engine to drawn magic or silver from the core of the earth and use it as an endless supply of energy. Houwha was proud of his position as a tuner and did what he thought was necessary to gain the approval of the humans for whom he worked.
