Summary
“The Stolen Party” is told by a third-person narrator in the past tense. Rosaura was a young girl of nine who had been invited to her friend Luciana’s party. Her mother, who worked as a maid for Luciana’s party, did not want Rosaura to go to the party because Luciana was rich. Rosaura was one of the best students in her class, and she did not believe that Luciana thought poorly of her because of her economic status. She and Luciana spent every afternoon doing their homework together while her mother cleaned Luciana’s house. She and Luciana told one another secrets and loved to spend time together.
