Summary
Chapter 26 begins with the last few weeks of August rushing by. Hyacinth takes care of everything she needs to do in order to get the girls enrolled and ready for school in September. On the night before school is supposed to begin, while the girls are asleep in bed, Ms. Zelma calls Hyacinth to come next door. When Hyacinth arrives, Ms. Zelma has the television on and is watching a news report of a car being chased by police driving off the road and into the sea. A reporter appears on the screen and says Miami authorities attempted to arrest a man named Errol Rose on charges of exploitation of minors.
