Good Versus Evil

The Stand is a traditional good versus evil novel in which forces of good and evil come into conflict and individual characters must choose between their ability to do good or evil. Shortly after the majority of the population of the United States are killed, the people still alive begin having conflicting dreams drawing them either toward the evil forces of Flagg or the good forces of Mother Abigail. Individual characters, like Nadine, must fight the sense that they have been called to join the forces of evil, even though they are generally good people. Finally, this novel is a typical good versus evil novel with good ultimately triumphing over evil.
