Summary
In Chapter 52, Mother Abigail sensed the Lord had become distant from her and prayed for Him to show her faults to her. As she prayed, she had a vision that it was a wolf, under Flagg’s control, that had scared away the weasels that tried to take her bag of chickens back in Hemingford Home, not the power of God. The wolf, which was carrying a black stone in its mouth, told Mother Abigail that she had no power over him, that she was a weak vessel, because of her sin of pride. When Mother Abigail finished her prayer, she believed she knew what she had to do. She dressed and left town.
Glen found the note that Mother Abigail left stating that she had sinned and needed to be alone for a while. She promised to be back as soon...
