Masao Yanoguchi makes phone calls to confirm Jimmy's discovery. Sandoz discusses the matter with D.W. Yarbrough. The Japanese ambassador of the United States arrives that afternoon. A worldwide news broadcast occurs, after which kids break into Jimmy's apartment and steals a copy of the code needed to reproduce the ET music. A debate occurs over possession of the transmission. Anne is adamant about staying clear of the mission.

Jimmy receives a promotion, and will now be in charge of staff of five who will research anything they can find about the transmission and its source.
