Summary

In Chapter 7, Lina breaks her and Aaron’s silence in the car by trying to guess why he asked her out. Aaron gets annoyed when her guesses keep relating to exes. He says he does not like games, except football, which he played in college. That is how he got an invite to the animal shelter fundraiser he is bringing Lina to. He is participating in a bachelor auction. Whoever bids the most on any given bachelor wins a date with him. Aaron needs Lina to bid on him.

Aaron introduces Lina to the event’s organizer, Angela, in Chapter 8. Angela jokes about how intense the bidding got last year. Next, they run into TJ, Aaron’s old teammate. When TJ jokes that Lina should bid on him, Aaron tells him to back off. The tense moment passes when TJ laughs. TJ mentions...
