Summary
Bhima walks home from Sera’s. She thinks about what has happened. She wonders if Sera will forget what Bhima told her Viraf did or if the thought will nag her. She wonders, too, how it will affect the relationship between Sera and Viraf. She knows that even though she knows Sera better than anyone, she can never know how she thinks because of their differences.
Bhima thinks about all the things she has learned from Sera over the years. Bhima had been afraid of Muslims taking over India until Sera had told her the truth. Muslims in India were poor and there were far fewer of them than the Hindus. She wishes that Sera had also shared more about herself.
