Summary

Two months have gone by since the abortion. Maya sits day after day in the hut with a blank look on her face. Bhima does not know what to do. She believes she would know the answer if she were educated. Shortly after the abortion, Bhima had encouraged Maya to go back to school or find a job. Maya had reacted with anger.
