The Theatre

The theatre in which the play is performed is an important part of the play's setting in space. This is because Bella spends much of the play actually talking to the audience - in other words, the theatre is the physical context in which a significant portion of the action and story unfold. This is true of whatever theatre the play is presented in.

The Park (New Haven Green)

In her narration, Bella places the first moments of the play in New Haven Green, a park near the section of the Yale University campus where she works. This is also the place where Christopher's body is found, as referenced in the Epilogue. The language in both Scene 1 and the Epilogue echoes each other, giving a clear sense of emotional connection between the two moments, if not physical connection as well.
