The New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium in Boston was opened in 1969. It is the home of more than 20,000 animals of more than 600 different species. It is a nonprofit organization with more than 1.3 million visitors a year. One of its most beloved creatures is Myrtle the green sea turtle who is over eighty years old. It has an extensive education program and promotes marine conservation. To this end, they have programs such as the Harbor Discoveries Camps, the Marine Animal Rescue Team, and sustainability advising to seafood companies.
