Summary
Montgomery is on her second diving trip, sinking because she is not used to the weight of steel cylinders. She is in Mooréa with Jennifer and David, conducting research. Her friend Keith helps her out and guides her to the spot where he sighted octopuses the day before. He had followed the octopus around for almost an hour, it seemed to be giving him a guided tour of its neighborhood. Keith is an underwater photographer and got a shot of the octopus’ friend towering on a pile of rocks. The area is full of rubble, the corals that were once there were destroyed by starfish and hurricanes.
