Tuesday 5th June: Chapters 48-53 Summary
In Chapter Forty-Eight, Dee is hidden in his office in London, cleaned and somewhat refreshed. He contemplates his limited options, weighing them against his plans and reasons for bringing the Elders back into the world. He calls Machiavelli and asks for a favor; he wants him to contact London authorities regarding Flamel, the terrorist who has blown up part of London. He also asks that Machiavelli not contact his Elder master. Machiavelli agrees to all of this but contacts his own Elder master. Machiavelli knows he must keep allies on both sides, Dee's and his own master's. Dee knows his days, even hours, may be numbered.
In Chapter Forty-Nine, Ayala and Perenelle create a plan to keep the Sphinx occupied through the use of Alcatraz's ghosts.
