Part 2: Chapters 26-37 and Epilogue Summary
In Chapter 26, Lennon spends part of the night trying to find her mother using Bailey's notebook and method of mixing her name with literary references, but fails to find anything tangible. Lennon then goes down and finds her uncle on the front porch. They talk and Lennon tells Uncle Big that she thinks Bailey had the wanderer's gene too, but Uncle Big suggests that Bailey was content to stay put, but Lennon seems to be the restless one. This shocks Lennon and makes her see herself differently.
In Chapter 27, Lennon is not the only one to miss Joe. It seems her grandmother and Uncle Big miss him as well. That day at work, Lennon makes lots of mistakes and finds herself reassigned. Sarah comes to the deli and is shocked at Lennon's confession of kissing...
