Chapter 7 Summary

Chapter Seven arrives with Zoe being woken up in the morning by her fathers phone call from the hospital, and that he had not come home the previous night. He tells his daughter that he will be staying at the hospital that day and probably that night, and that Zoe will not be able to visit her mother. Zoe feels hurt and left out, and gets herself ready for school. When she arrives she realizes that in her distraught state she has missed her calculus textbook from her bag and considers going home to get it. Faced with the idea of being late to school or not even attending school at all, she decides to skip the whole day.
