Summary
One day Jodi calls Todd to ask how he is and to invite him to dinner. Jodi happily plans dinner for the following night and runs errands to the supermarket, the florist, the fishmonger and the cheese shop. Jodi is in a dreamlike haze of renewed love and counts the hours until Todd's arrival. Jodi thinks about Todd's drive to prove himself in the world and realizes that it stems from low self esteem according to Adlerian thinking.
Jodi recalls Gerard's questioning her about her family and she focuses on her younger brother, Ryan, whose outbursts began when he was a toddler.
