Summary

Part 4 begins with a quote from Alice Miller saying that therapy only helps patients confront the past and does not remove it.

Theo closes Alicia’s diary and feels he finally understands her. He takes the diary to another office marked Dr. C West. Christian is shocked and nervous when Theo reveals he knows about Christian’s private meetings with Alicia. He calls Christian selfish and Christian says he was doing it as a favor for Gabriel. Christian begs Theo not to tell, or he will lose his job and license. Theo agrees, but only if Christian will tell him everything he knows about Alicia. Christian says he only saw Alicia a few times after her father’s death and once before the murder. He calls her delusional and that she only attempted suicide to get Gabriel’s attention.
