Summary
Theo goes to meet Jean-Felix at Alicia’s old gallery. He reveals that he and Max went to school and worked together, but Jean-Felix did not know Gabriel well. A few days before the murder, Jean-Felix went into Alicia’s house and says she seemed stressed. He then takes Theo to see her paintings. The first is a depiction of Alicia’s mother dead in the car crash where she purposely ran into a wall. Next is the painting of Gabriel on the cross with downcast eyes and the rifle that killed him strapped to his chest. Next is the painting of Lydia as an enormously fat woman with flesh spilling all over the room.
Lastly, Theo is shown the Alcestis and Jean-Felix tells him to read the story. Jean-Felix calls the painting beautiful, including the naked Alicia. Theo asks about her...
