Chapter 15: Mr Enderby Summary
After the funeral, the children hear about why Penelope went to London the day before—to add codicils to her will. Each of the three children will receive a nice sum of money—which pleases Noel wholly—but then Nancy and Noel hear that Danus will receive the Lawrence Stern sketches and Antonia will receive the expensive pearl earrings. Both immediately open their mouths and start to accuse the two young adults of manipulating Penelope and taking advantage of her. Olivia has had enough and uses a voice that neither have ever heard before; she tells them that nothing of the sort happened and that they will both accept the verdict gracefully.
Olivia goes up to her mother's room after the funeral and finds the letter that Richard sent her just before he died. She wishes...
