Summary
Chapter Twenty-Six opens as Paul calls Sally to ask about the day his mother fell. As Sally explains what she saw, Paul wonders if his mother clicked the help button because something in the house scared her. He hangs up when he learns Sally may not have needed the key. He thinks maybe she had not actually fallen. So, Paul goes to the police station and asks for Amanda, but gets Holder instead. He tells him about his mother and shows him the doll Charlie made. While Holder finds the doll disgusting, he tells Paul that his grief may be messing with his mind and Paul says he is not making anything up.
