Devotion and Self-Sacrifice
When Perrin learns a Whitecloak force has entered the Two Rivers, he suspects they are searching for him. In the first book, The Eye of the World, Perrin killed several Whitecloaks while attempting to defend a wolf named Hopper. The Whitecloaks captured him and told him that he would be taken to Amadicia, tried, and executed, but Perrin was rescued from the Whitecloaks by Moiraine. Later, before the battle of Falme, Geofram Bornhald spotted Perrin in a village outside of Falme and, remembering him as the Darkfriend who killed several Whitecloaks, sent a message back to Amadicia containing Perrin's name and appearance, and Geofram's suspicions that Perrin was a Darkfriend. When Geofram's regiment was wiped out at the battle of Falme, the Whitecloaks blamed the only specific Darkfriend that Geofram had reported, Perrin Ay'bara.
