Chapter 29
Perrin guides his group toward Emond's Field, stopping first at Rand's father's farm, which is burned to the ground. Perrin slips away with Gaul in the night and enters Emond's Field. Egwene's father lets them into his inn, telling Perrin that the Whitecloaks have placed a bounty on Perrin's head. Perrin tells them he has come in order to turn himself over to the Whitecloaks, so they will leave the Two Rivers. Faile, Bain, and Chiad arrive in time to overhear him, and Faile is outraged that he would consider such a thing. The Al'Veres break the news to Perrin that the trollocs slaughtered his whole family, along with many others, and are still about, ravaging outlying farms.
