Chapter 21

Rand calls a gathering of all the High Lords of Tear. The High Lords cheer when Rand tells them the army will move, thinking he means to invade Illian, the city they all despise. They are appalled when he tells them they will move north into Cairhien, and use the army to restore order and distribute food. Rand drives Callandor into the ground at the Heart of the Stone, and tells them that it will remain, to await his return, for he is going away. He marches out of the Stone of Tear, the Aiel with him. Moiraine asks him to reconsider, especially regarding Callandor. She tells him one of the Forsaken could come and claim it.
