Chapter 13

After overhearing rumors in a tavern about Whitecloaks in the Two Rivers looking for Rand, Mat and Perrin, Mat goes to see Perrin. Perrin has heard as well, and is packing to leave. Mat tells him that he can not go with Perrin to the Two Rivers, that Rand's pull as a ta'veren is holding Mat to him, and that, for the time being, he must go where Rand goes.

Chapter 14

Berelain, the First of Mayene, pays a visit to Perrin. She tells him that she is leaving for Mayene and invites him to accompany her. He refuses. Faile walks in on them and Berelain, in front of the other woman, seductively invites Perrin again. She leaves with Faile following her. Faile accosts her in the hallway, telling her to stay away from Perrin. Berelain tells Faile that she will...
