Summary

In “Seventh Moon,” Maali watches Ranchagoda and Cassim discuss Jaki’s case. She has been captured for multiple violations. They think she knows about the negatives. Afraid what will happen to her, Maali calls out to whomever will listen. Eventually, he finds Sena, who has amassed his death squad and is preparing to kill the Minister. He does not help Maali.

Maali goes “to the Crow Man’s cave” (329). He sees Stanley begging for protection for DD. Crow Man warns him not to leave the house, as “unholy things [are] in the air” (330). Maali begs Crow Man to tell Stanley “Jaki is in the Palace” (330). He accuses Crow Man of being a fraud because he still cannot whisper.
