Godstow

Godstow is the town where the convent is located. This is the primary setting for the majority of the novel. Adelia, the bishop and the rest of their party ends up getting snowed into Godstow after they find the body of the young man that turns out to be Talbot of Kidlington.

Icehouse

The nuns have a huge icehouse on the property. The icehouse is essentially a huge well dug into the ground that has a huge iron cover, similar to that of a modern day manhole. Adelia and the bishop place Talbot of Kidlington's body in the icehouse to preserve it until they can find out who he is and why someone murdered him. The true purpose of the icehouse is for the nuns to store their meats and other perishable goods.
