Chapters 9-12 Summary

In Chapter 9, Sadie and Zia go to the nursing home for gods in the Duat where Bes has been since losing part of his soul and with it his self. Upon their arrival, Zia goes into some kind of trance and damages the main reception room. Zia explains to Sadie that she has been suffering these fugue states since spending so much time with Ra. This sets Sadie worrying about Zia, but she does not have time to deal with it. Zia and Sadie visit with Bes briefly after speaking with Tawaret, the caretaker and a former girlfriend of Bes. Tawaret gives Sadie an idea of where she might find Bes's shadow.
