Forrestville, Tennessee
This is where Dill, Travis, and Lydia live and attend high school. The town is relatively small and is within driving distance of Nashville. There are only a few specific places in the town that are of importance, including the homes of the three main characters, the high school, the bookstore, the grocery store where Dill works, and the mill where Travis works. Lydia disapproves of the name because the town is named for Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate general.
