Summary

Chapter 28 is titled “Travis,” and this is the final chapter from his perspective. He is sitting at a remote spot where Lamar often sold firewood. Though Travis was skeptical about the location, Lamar had been correct. Amelia texts him and Travis says he should be able to afford a new laptop soon. Travis and Amelia plan to meet and read the final book of the Bloodfall series together. An old Nissan pulls up and Travis assumes they want to buy wood. He chooses a bundle of wood from his truck but turns around to discover the men are pointing a gun at him, demanding his money. Travis reaches for the pouch that holds his money and has to move the staff out of the way. The man with the gun shoots him, grabs the money, and they leave. Travis stays on his feet...
