Summary
In Chapter 17, which returns to the first-person point of view, as Moran and Conway searched Orla, Gemma, Joanne, and Alison’s room, Conway mentioned that she remembered Moran from training. She said that he impressed her because he was not trying to be popular, but instead concentrating on learning the job. Conway remembered how he had watched the others making friends and wished he could do the same. He had made the decision not to be more popular because he was so ambitious. Conway confirmed that she was not in the Murder squad to make friends, she was there to do her job.
