Summary

Chapter 14 returns to the third-person point of view. The narrator indicates that on the day of the Valentine’s Dance, Chris has three months, one week, and a day to live. Joanne and her friends make fun of Rebecca for wearing jeans to the dance, but Rebecca is dancing and ignoring them. Julia and Finn Carroll, a boy from Colm’s, meet at the punch table and start talking. Because Finn is an intelligent boy with whom Julia likes to talk, she agrees to sneak outside with him.

Meanwhile, Selena takes a break from dancing. She has begun to feel weightless, as if she is part of everything around her. She is standing next to the punch table when Chris approaches her and asks if she is okay. When Chris touches her arm, everything comes back into focus for Selena. Selena notices Chris...
