Secrets
Keeping secrets is a primary theme in The Secret Keepers as the author suggests that some secrets are meant to be kept while others desperately need to be revealed. Nearly every character in the novel is holding on to at least one secret. For the protagonist, Reuben Pedley, and his allies the secrets are meant to protect others from danger or knowledge that would cause harm or worry. From the first page the author is writing about Reuben's secret keeping. He heads out among the city streets to explore, even beyond the boundaries that have been set for him.
