Summary
As this section opens, Natan tells of a secret visit by Batsheva. She told him that she was pregnant with a second child and was worried that the child might die like the first. She told Natan about her fear and hatred for David because of how he raped her. Natan seemed to think that Batsheva had invited the affair by being indiscreet on her rooftop, but she opened his eyes to the reality of her plight. Natan began to feel sympathy for her and suddenly had a vision of the child's future and he stated to her that the boy would be King.
