Summary

Chapter 42 is titled “Making Amends.” Styx, Caleb, and Bobby leave the store with the Grasshopper. There were two helmets with the moped, and Styx had said he would be fine without one, but Caleb and Bobby Gene insist and they buy a third helmet. They stop for gas and strawberry milk. When it is time to get on the moped, Styx takes the front to drive. Caleb climbs on and encourages Bobby Gene to get on the back, but when he hesitates, Caleb trades places with him. They are exhilarated as they ride around the area and Caleb takes them to Pike's Place Auto Parts. He says he wants to make the trade with Marcus right, but Marcus is not there.
