Summary
Chapter 25 is titled “Model Behavior.” Bobby Gene and Caleb have separated all their black and green Legos, and are building a model of the grasshopper moped. They talk about where they might go. They know Chicago is too far, but that Indianapolis might be possible. Angie calls to the boys to take out the trash. Caleb, without realizing why, says they will “pencil it in after supper” (147) and makes it worse by saying he and Bobby Gene are busy. Caleb says he is not certain what other stupid things he might have said if Bobby Gene had not dragged Caleb up to rush to the chore. When Bobby Gene asks why Caleb is acting this way, Caleb responds by saying that “Styx does whatever he feels like” (147).
Caleb and Bobby Gene go to Cory's to ask him for help getting out of chores...
