Summary
In Chapter 10, Cal stops by Mart’s house on the way home. During the conversation, Cal asks Mart why he has decided P.J.’s sheep are next. Mart claims it is because they are convenient, but Cal thinks he is hiding something. When Cal asks more questions, Mart warns him not to go “all Columbo” (179) on him because Mart has things under control. Mart also demands to know why Cal was talking to Eugene and Fergal earlier because they have nothing to do with the sheep. Cal pretends to get worked up about his unproductive search for someone to rewire his kitchen. Mart promises to find someone who can rewire the kitchen. Mart invites Cal to come to Seán Óg’s, the neighborhood pub, later that night.
