Harvey Merrick

Harvey Merrick is a man who grew up in the small town of Sand City, Kansas and was educated on the east coast to be a sculptor. He remained on the east coast to pursue his artistic career, and he became highly renowned and successful. Although Harvey is dead during the entire main narrative, he is in many ways the central character. The story centers around Harvey’s body and legacy as his coffin arrives in his hometown to be buried. The dramatic tension is derived from the thoughts and conversations of the nearby characters as they discuss Harvey.
