Summary

Part II is titled Before. In Chapter 5, Lucy gives an overview of the influx of ghosts, which is called the Problem. Some people believe ghosts have always been present, but she does not believe the situations are the same. The Problem began some 50 years earlier. Tom Rotwell and Marissa Fittes were pioneers in the early research. Both launched psychic agencies as the Problem grew with no other answers.
