Summary

Chapter 61

In Chapter 61, it is time for the Scorpio Races finally, and Sean feels so alive as Corr moves restlessly beneath him. He has never been aware of how many riders are on the beach until he met Puck, and now he looks through the crowd until he sees her on Dove. Mutt approaches, promising the race will be hell for Sean, and he follows Sean's gaze, claiming he now knows what Sean cares about. Puck tries to pretend this is just another spring, and though she needs to win, she feels guilty that she and Sean cannot both win. Gabe tells Peg Gratton about Puck's lack of colors, so Peg places the cape from Epona's costume under Dove's saddle, noting "now you wear Thisby's colors... show them who you are" (page 378).
