Gavaldon

Gavaldon is the main home of Agatha and Sophie. It is a small town surrounded by an endless and dangerous wood. Every four years, two children over the age of 12 are kidnapped by a mysterious entity the townspeople named the School Master. The children will always be one exceedingly good child, and one who is an outcast or exceedingly evil. The townspeople try desperately to protect their children, but are never able to foil the School Master. Every year, the citizens receive four fairy tales, and the children recognize the main characters as previous children that were kidnapped. It is implied that Gavaldon is the only town separated from the fairy tale universe as Agatha and Sophie are the only two readers present in the school and not children of existing fairy tale characters.
