Summary
The four girls sneak out at midnight and confront the gnome. At first, she denies their accusations of being a boy. Sophie does not understand the plan or significance of Yuba being Helga. Uba tells them that he had to disguise himself as Helga to survive. Young gnomes could transform between genders which interested Merlin. However, after they perfected the spell, Arthur used it to attack Lancelot and Merlin was forced into hiding. Yuba only has enough potion to turn one of the girls into a boy for three days. The girls cannot decide and Yuba tells them to come back to class the next day for a challenge to decide who will go. Yuba explains the five rules.
