Chapter 3, Bad Moon Rising Summary
At three in the morning in New York, Foxglove and Hazel wake from their nightmares, turn on the light, and comfort each other. Nightmares frighten Hazel because of being unable to control what is going on in her own head. Thessaly knocks on their door and asks if they are all right. She sees the fear on their faces when she asks if they have had any bad dreams. Thessaly asks one of them to join her to check on Wanda and Barbie, but both join her because neither wants to be alone. Foxglove asks what is going on, and Thessaly ambiguously replies "stuff". They wake Wanda who cries over her bad dream. Thessaly says that she is worried about Barbie, inducing Wanda to near panic as she bangs on Barbie's door. They can hear the television...
