Summary

In “Chapter 49,” Elin ponders whether or not Laure might be capable of the brutal murder of Adele.

In “Chapter 50,” Noah returns the files to Elin. Elin looks through them and finds several unpublished articles sent to Laure from a journalist looking into accusations of bribery and corruption surrounding Lucas’s building permits to work on the precariously positioned sanatorium, which is technically located in a national park. Elin also finds an article about psychotic depression, wherein the depressed person experiences hallucinations.

In “Chapter 51,” Elin talks to Berndt and the task force. She tells him what she learned and he promises to look into Laure.

In “Chapter 52,” Margot comes to Elin’s room and confesses that she saw Lucas and Laure having a heated conversation just a couple of weeks ago.

In “Chapter 53,” Elin tells Will and Isaac what she has learned. Elin and...
