Truck
Rae Lynn's truck is symbolic of freedom. Although Rae Lynn is unsure what to do in the wake of Warren's deaths and Butch's threats, the truck offers her a way out of her predicament. The same is true at the end of Part II, when Rae Lynn realizes she must leave Swallow Hill. Although the truck does not give her a clear sense of the future, it delivers her from danger and offers her the illusion of liberation.
Corn Bin
The corn bin in which Del almost dies is symbolic of transformation. Although this experience terrifies and unnerves Del, it forces him into confrontation with who he has been. The near-death experience in the bin also compels him to pursue a new life and to more concertedly plan for his future.
Warren's Clothes
The articles of Warren's clothing that Rae Lynn wears are symbolic of disguise...
