Prologue - Chapter 10 Summary

In the Prologue, the setting is in Stillwater, Oklahoma, 17 years ago, at a pizza joint called Hideaway Pizza. Michael Dean and Annie Franklin have been dating for three and a half years. They are at a pizza joint eating and talking with each other. Michael and Annie are seniors at Oklahoma State University. They are talking about how their friend Grady has not played in the past five games and there have been many scouts at each game vying for players. Along comes Annie's best friend from middle school, Christine, who asks to borrow her black dress. Her date Seth has two extra tickets to James Taylor, which Michael and Annie are excited to go and see in concert.
