Unrequited Love
The overarching theme of this story is misplaced love—love given but not returned. Not once in this tale of young love and lust is there a relationship where the partners get easily claim who they want or think they want. The story starts off with an unnamed girl who is never identified. This unnamed girl is attracted to Daniel who is with another girl. The unnamed girl wants to lose her virginity so she settles to do so with another boy, the entire time wishing it was Daniel. Paul is in love with Mitchell but Mitchell is a bi-sexual who bounces back and forth between Paul and girls. Mitchell has left Paul for Candice.
