Chapter 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Summary

In Chapter 5, Will is upset about not receiving an apprenticeship. He decides to sneak into the Baron's study to see the paper that Halt gave the Baron. He believes that he will be relegated to working in the fields anyway so he has nothing to lose if he is caught. He uses his abilities of being invisible in the dark and climbing to sneak into the Baron's office. Halt catches him and takes him to see the Baron. Will is scared. He believes that the Baron will be angry with him and send him to work in the fields.

The Baron questions why Will tried to steal the paper. Will confesses that he just wanted to see what it said. The Baron asks Halt what they should do with Will. Will is confused by the conspiratorial air. The Baron shows Will the paper...
